A Story of Continuity: From Lafarge to YTL Cement

Our journey with Lafarge began in 2007.

At the time, we were a small, focused team working behind the scenes—curious, nimble, and drawn to the complexity of cement as both material and metaphor. Lafarge Malaysia was a global name with deep local presence, and the work we were entrusted with wasn’t just visual—it was strategic. We weren’t asked to just film events or design brochures. We were asked to help shape how Lafarge spoke to the world.

Over the next 12 years, we grew alongside them.

From product campaigns to safety culture videos, from internal communications to public storytelling, we became part of their language—quietly crafting content that was clear, credible, and grounded in purpose. Lafarge’s standards, structure, and international voice shaped the foundation of Visviva’s communication DNA. It was through Lafarge that we learned how to blend marketing instinct with corporate precision; how to move hearts without losing the message.

In 2019, Lafarge Malaysia was acquired by YTL Cement, marking a new chapter in the company’s history—and ours.

In that moment of transition, we were honoured to be retained. It wasn’t just a continuation of service—it was a quiet confirmation of trust. We now had the opportunity to carry forward the storytelling tradition we'd helped build, into a new culture, with new leadership, and a broader Malaysian identity.

That same year, when YTL Cement expanded its footprint to Vietnam through FICO-YTL, we were invited to support their cross-border branding and communication efforts. From stakeholder presentation materials to introductory corporate visuals, we were tasked with helping a newly merged team communicate its unified vision—across language, culture, and leadership styles.

Today, under YTL Cement, we continue to support campaigns that speak to sustainability, innovation, and transformation in the building materials industry. From rebranding visuals to strategic videos, we've remained a creative partner not bound by legacy, but shaped by it.

The journey from Lafarge to YTL, and onward to Vietnam, has been more than a client evolution—it has been a cornerstone in the story of Visviva. One that taught us how to listen strategically, communicate clearly, and above all, stay committed—even as the names, regions, and leadership evolved.

The use of recycled chips saves considerable quantities of natural raw materials.  Use of recycled chips is therefore an ecologically valuable alternative for processing natural resources. This alternative, with a view to reducing harmful impacts, is the more effective the shorter the transport routes for RC materials.
